MFAA 2010 FALL EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE
SEPTEMBER 15,16,17 (2010)
Crowne Plaza Pittsfield-Berkshires
One West Street

Hello everyone,
The Fall Conference Committee is very excited to bring you this year’s MFAA Educational Fall Conference. We have worked hard to schedule high quality speakers and events that will provide valuable information for our membership. If you have any questions about the event please contact any of the Fall Conference Committee and we will do our best to help you.
The MFAA has reserved a block of rooms at the conference center. When calling to reserve your room make sure you mention that you are with the MFAA Conference. Members have to cover all expenses for their own accommodations. All other conferences fees, meals, and event expenses for members and guests are covered by the association.
The MFAA provides a Hospitality Suite for the duration of the conference. We have found that this space provides members a relaxed environment to network, exchange information, and commiserate over a well fought summer battle in all of our buildings. The Hospitality Room location will be marked at the MFAA registration welcome desk in the main lobby.
We look forward to seeing you all at the conference.

Tim Cahill is proud to be serving his second term as Treasurer and Receiver General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Treasurer Cahill manages the state’s finances by taking a fiscally conservative approach to investing and maximizing the use of taxpayer money.
Some of his achievements as Treasurer include:
Reforming the Massachusetts School Building Authority; creating a Job Growth Initiative which has already created 7,500 new jobs; returning close to $5 billion in Lottery local aid to cities and towns; overseeing the growth of the state pension fund; reuniting $1.1 billion in Abandoned Property with its rightful owners; and when Massachusetts residents were looking for a safe way to invest their money in a tumultuous market, Treasurer Cahill created the opportunity to purchase Massachusetts General Obligation Bonds directly from the Treasury’s website.
Tim is a 1981 graduate of Boston University, with a B.A. in Political Science. He was elected in 1987 as Quincy City Councilor and in 1996 as Norfolk County Treasurer. In 2007 Treasurer Cahill was named an Eisenhower Fellow, traveling to both India and Ireland. He and his wife Tina live in Quincy with their four daughters.
